Tyrese is on the move.....

That's right ladies and gentleman...Tyrese is now an articulated man.
A baker that can now get around the kitchen.
No more one sided hugs or forced camera angles for this movin' groovin' stud.
 Too much? O.O

 (with flash)

He was placed on the new Back to Brooklyn Remi body.
And no, it was not initially a match. Not at all.
I actually painted and shaded his face until I got a close match.
This was accomplished with MANY THIN THIN layers of paint and make up sponges.
(tons of extender was lost in the process...haha.)
My "matte" sealer made him shiny, so I had to ruin the finish with paper towels...next I am going to take white computer paper to the surface (it is kind of like super duper gentle sand paper. At least it works that way for me in this case.)

No, he is not (in my PICKY opinion) perfect.
But, he has a close match Fashion Royalty Homme body that can actually pose!
He really is more appealing, and has this sense of realism that he didn't even come close to before his makeover.

Yes, lest we not forget his "Before".....

 Handsome, but....

Not THIS...
 (diffused light no flash)

And......

Apparently the following picture reminded my sister and me of the "Old Spice" guy...

Yes, we went there.
(click to read it.)

You're welcome. (^_~)

I'm still sewing wildly over here.  Is there even another way to be creative?
So many things to do so little time...
*yadda yadda*  (^_~)

I just want to say the following, because it never becomes irrelevant.
You are the most AMAZING people....thank you for still checkin' in on my little universe.

*BIG HUGS TO ALL WHO READ THIS*
Yes, even YOU non-hugger.....I see you.....and you will be mind hugged.

Crazier than ever and loving every minute of it,

  3. hahah! Why did they stop making Old Spice commercials with that guy?! Tyrese looks awesome! I am such a snob because a doll cannot be a main character until they can move! Great job with the painting. Dear Mattel, is it so hard to make some Fashionistos with this mold? Jeez. You make sewing sound so satisfying. You are an inspiration my friend! Can't wait until your shop opens!

    1. Good point Dani! Since there are a million Artsy/Nikki's already made and Mattel can't do two things at once, maybe they can retire Nikki for a season and create an AA Fashionistas Ken.

    2. I dunno why either....they were hilarious. The sister and I were cracking up reading various dialogues from the Old Spice guy commercials. And Tyrese thanks ya! (^_^) I am a snob that way too, but he was so handsome that I wanted him to prove me wrong. Apparently, what he proved is how crazy stubborn I am. I mean....I paid $70 for a body and painted his head. Yeah....crazy much? lol Mattel NEEDS to WAKE UP! We need more VARIETY! And I am finding sewing oddly satisfying...every time I make a new outfit and fall in love with it I am shocked. Thank you for the RIDICULOUSLY SWEET words Dani!! *hugs*

  5. You did a fabulous job, Cat! I'm sure, if he could, Tyrese would thank you for your painstaking efforts.

Love the Old Spice guy dialogue. Personally, I think Tyrese is better eye candy.

So what was the fate of Remi's head?

    1. Oh what a wonderful compliment! Thank you!(^_^) I won't disagree that Tyrese is truly holding his own now. And Remi's head was sold so that I could get some of the funds back. Now his body was $50 instead of $70. A little easier to take. lol

  13. I'm just getting back to comment after seeing your pictures at work. I can't comment from there but I can comment now. WOW! First Remi bodies are really out there for sale so you had to buy the doll. That was an expense! Then you put in the time and energy to do the face repaint. Girl, my hat is off to you! I can look at him and see the energy and love you put into him. Really, really really great job! He should have so much blog time now that he can move! Congratz girl!
