Episode 12 actually FINISHED! *Faint*

So, as I am sure many of you have noticed, my time in between Episode 11 and 12 was nearly a MONTH long! I have been a slacker where the doll drama is concerned, but not because I don't love doing it. I have been so caught up in doll customizations lately that I just don't have as much time. Are there days I could have made time? Probably. We all slack sometimes. We're human, it happens. I will do better to get Episode 13 to you sooner. I am working on  writing/filming the rest of Season 1 for a grand finale. It will definitely be several more Episodes before I get to the Season 1 Finale.  Of course the show would return sometime in 2012. :)

So, here it is....

THANK YOU ALL SO SO SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!
Have a Happy Halloween!

I cannot seem to stop myself!

As everyone may know by now, I purchased my very first crocheted dress a few days ago. If you haven't read the blog, it can be found here.  I had also mentioned that I bought several more crocheted pieces. They came today, and I couldn't contain my excitement!  Here are the pictures...

The above picture showcases 2 of the dresses I purchased.
The styling possibilities are amazing. :)

The first picture, in the shot above, showcases the orange sweater top, and the second/third pictures showcase the black and red dress I got!

I am so excited about having this one for the holidays! How cute?!

A hidden gem on eBay! :D

I have always wanted some crocheted pieces for my doll clothes collection. Up until today, I had not one piece of hand crocheted doll clothing. I have been searching for months, because I have certain criteria the pieces need to meet.

1. Not too bulky.

2. Versatile.

3. Stylish.

4. Affordable!!

Now do you see why it took me so long to find the new addition? Well actually, additions, because I ordered several other pieces from her after I fell in love with the dress that came today.

You can find her blog here: The Creative Bookworm
And her eBay store here: Joan's Emporium
She is a lovely individual and you should definitely check out the above sites!

The dress in the pictures below came with the red shoes and a cute red hanger all for $3.30 SHIPPED! :D  The belt and other accessories were things I already had or made.

My model is my Cali girl Lea re-root that now bares the name "Ava"....

Thank you for reading and following me!

Bratz for a good cause... Spa Day Fun! :)

As some of you know, I belong to an Indianapolis Fashion Doll Club. At the end of the year they donate tons of dolls and other toys to kids who are in need. This is my first year with them and it feels awesome to give back! I came from poverty as a child, and cherished every doll my mom could afford. She worked very hard as a single mother to raise my brother and me right. We didn't usually have the latest toys but it made me appreciate what I did have when I got it.   Many times the dolls I did get came from groups that donated toys for kids. It helped to shape my childhood into a happier one despite not having a lot of money or toys. So, I got a big box of Bratz last doll meeting and my sister Nikita and I are taking it upon ourselves to make over two Bratz at a time until the box is ready to donate. :) This Blog is our first spa day adventure. We felt like little girls again and had many laughs. It was the best and brightest day I've had in awhile. I do not collect Bratz and never have, but I have been given a gift in doll restoration and I love to give and not just sell everything I do. If I was financially well off I wouldn't sell my work at all. :)

So without further introduction.....

Mine and Nikita's Bratz makeover Day 1....

Well I hope everyone enjoyed mine and my sister's madness. :)
I had more fun than I thought I would. lol

Off with her head...

Commission 1 of 2 COMPLETED! :) I am really happy this morning because I finished a re-root. I could not be more pleased with the results. She is stunning, and I look forward to her new owner's reaction when she sees this lovely girl!  She only took two days to complete. I even got some sleep during the process, all while working on my 2nd Commission. The 2nd commission is coming along nicely and I will be plugging away on her today! She is my very first hard head re-root. Which is why she is taking me so long. Alas, I am going to tap into my sticktoitiveness so that she is on her way back home by Monday or earlier!  (^_^)

Without rambling on further, I present what I finished this morning....

And yes, she is at the mall. We played dress-up this morning! :) lol

My shame....

I wish I had more time to devote to the kid side of my collection. But right now that just isn't possible. My Kelly and Tommy sized children are doing pretty well, but many of the others are in need of new wardrobes and re-roots. Ugh. Not enough time in the day. lol  So I took a group shot to reveal the less stylish side of my doll collection.....

Overwhelming isn't it? lol

Some changes around here.....

So my body told me that 4 hours of sleep was enough. I tend to disagree, but since I have to do as my body dictates in that area, I stayed up. Well, surprisingly enough, I accomplished photographing, writing, and posting the Character Profile section of this blog! (^_^) Madness? Does creative genius come in any other form? LOL  Although, I wouldn't call what I did "creative genius", just creative accomplishment. I am hoping to update the look of "A Doll Affinity" and get around to posting a couple blog entries this week. The accomplishment of that will depend upon how far I get in my re-rooting projects. They are my first priority.

There is a lot of information in the Character Profile section. Some of which you may not know, so take a gander if you have time and let me know what you think. :)

In other odd news this week...ever wondered what the inside torso on the articulated Frank Sinatra Barbie looks like? Well, wait no more.....

Some would find this horrifying. I find it fascinating. Now I have a reference if something starts going wrong with any of my articulated bodies. This was from a purchase I made off eBay.  I purchased the doll for $15 (compliments of eBay bucks) for her body. I noticed her torso seams appeared spaced when I moved her. So, on a hunch, I gently pulled her apart. I snapped the pictures before I fixed her.  I am very relieved she was repairable! (^_^)

Well,  I do believe that's it for this afternoon.

Hope everyone's week is going well!!

Episode 11 POSTED! :D

I'm a day late, but I did get Episode 11 posted on YouTube. I plan on updating character profiles and showcasing more of my re-root work, as well as undertaking a couple more commissions in the VERY near future. I am currently working on 2 re-root commissions, so the re-rooting updates will take place after those are finished. Hopefully the first commission will be completed this week sometime. Thank you so much for being patient with me everyone!!! :)  You're all so AMAZING! Let your creative stars shine bright!!
