More stuff....

...for sale. I went through my doll room this past week and tried clearing out some of the excess. I really need to get this stuff out of my house.  I listed the bulk of it HERE! :)  And I have a few things listed on eBay. One of those things include the Ken re-root I just finished. I apologize for being so absent in responding. My life is topsy turvy at the moment. Which is better than dull and lifeless. I haven't forgotten about anyone I promise! It's just that  my multitasking abilities are stretched at the moment. Fancy that? lol By early next week I should have a doll room video posted to my youtube channel. I will blog about it. The idea for the video stemmed from this entry from Vita Plastica! :)  I'm excited to show everyone my doll mess. Although, it tends not to be a mess this time of year as I just finished Fall doll cleaning. Here are some pictures of the long hours of hard dolly labor I have put in....

The first several pictures are of the Mall and Bar/Club....

Here is a cute little side yard I added in my vintage dream house.... :)
Here are a couple of shots from my pink Barbie house.....

Hope everyone enjoyed the pictures!!  Have a great weekend!!! ^_^

Back...sorta :)

My weekend has been BUSY! I have quite a few projects in the works, and no end in sight, which is WONDERFUL!  My perspective in life has changed dramatically and I am on the upswing. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. I am blessed. New friends and new happiness keep finding me. It's amazing what can happen when you close doors, many more do open.  Crazy concept, eh? Or, perhaps you just see the doors that were there the entire time. :) Thank you all for being so awesome!!

The doll drama will return next weekend, as long as I have the time. :)

I went to my 2nd doll meeting today and shared some of my re-root work. They want me to give a presentation on my OOAK's and how I do what I do. So cool! :) Which brings me to this guy.....

He is for SALE! I finished re-rooting him last night, and he comes with everything you see in the last picture, including the stand and glasses. I try hard not to sell on eBay, so I am giving those who follow my blog, flickr, and dollpage accounts first choice. If you are interested in purchasing this fellow you can send me an e-mail at crushed.velvet.orchid5@gmail.com

Oh and I won the stylish new Japan doll that was released this year in the doll raffle! She needs a boil wash and a new body.....when I get time.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone is WELL!!!

Hiatus...

I am going to take the next couple of weeks and work on some personal and health related things that have come into my life. I will still re-root behind the scenes, check into everyone's blogs, and respond to any and all e-mails. However, I am putting my Doll Drama on pause, so there will be no new episodes this week, and maybe none the week after. I need to take care of my health. All prayers are appreciated. Thank you all for being so understanding. :)

A random picture from a photo shoot I did with Sienna awhile back.

May each of you be immeasurably blessed.

Episode 9! Posted! :)

It took quite a bit of work to finish up this episode. The new diorama was the cause. But, as long as everyone enjoys it, the blisters from the hot glue gun were worth it! :) lol

Have a great week!!!

A Doll Day!! :D More on the A Frame...

So I scrubbed this monster down bit by bit for over 2 hours.....*Faints*
But it was worth every broken nail I incurred.  After it was all cleaned up I decided to get my furniture out and decorate it. Now the photos below are by no means how it will stay, I was just having fun with it.  Ms.Leo made mention of wanting to see the inside, and that is exactly what I took pictures of this time. Modeling in the photos is Haven and Pandora...

The first two pictures are of the guy room. There is a lot more detail in this room than you can actually see. Kind of crazy, but I do love black, red, and white...*sigh* Haven makes it look better. Inviting isn't it?  ;) lol

The next few pictures are of the "girl" bedroom...lots of little stuff in there! Again, hard to catch it all in the photos.

These pictures are of the Bathroom, and I want to do more with it in the future.

The lovely living room, and yes, I wanted it to look "dated". I love this style. :)
Here is the kitchen, sadly, I have no useable counter space, so it is a bit cramped and limited.

And finally, the "sitting" room, wasn't sure what to do in this room, but I would definitely like to add wall paintings with other odds and ends in the future. This room was quite tricky do to all the windows and doors. You can't see it in the photo but there is a balcony behind the wicker furniture. Very cool little room. :)

That concludes the tour of my new doll house. I also have the large pink barbie house they issued a few years back. It has a spiral staircase, and I cannot remember what it was called. Now that I have this behemoth, I'm wondering if I shouldn't get rid of the big pink house.....?

Hope everyone's week is going stellar! (^_^)

A Barbie Dream come True!! :D and re-root service...

As promised the big surprise I mentioned in my last blog....
I have coveted the Barbie A Frame Dream House FOREVER! I found it on Craigslist (which I never check) for only $45. It has most of the flowers, and from what I can tell I am missing 2 doors and 2 small windows. Otherwise it looks to be in superb condition, just needs a little elbow grease. I was so excited I didn't even make my bed before taking the picture, so please do excuse the mess. lol

And on another note I have 2 spots available for commissioned re-roots.
Contact me at crushed.velvet.orchid5@gmail.com for details.

I will be basing my cost on the type of doll being re-rooted, the hair requested, and the work that would be involved. At this time I will only be offering my services in the United States. As time goes on I may expand. This is a test run. I have completed 1 commissioned request so far. However I have sold 6 to very happy customers in total, and I have kept a few for my own collection.
I generally work with Barbie, but wouldn't mind trying my hand at Silkstone, and Vintage dolls. I also have done Ken, and Kelly/Tommy sized dolls.
Just let me know what you want done and we'll talk it over. :)

Thank you for reading and watching!!

EPISODE 8....POSTED! :D

Here ya go.....let me know what you think of this weeks drama! (^_^)

Enjoy!!

-Cat of A Doll Affinity

A week.....Time loss....

Okay, so Episode 8 is a day off schedule and will be posted tonight, God and Youtube willing....

I haven't posted much anywhere in the past week. As I am suffering with a severe case of the blahs. I do hope they go away soon.  On another note, something exciting is happening for me tomorrow in the doll section of my life. I may cry tears of joy, and I'll post a special blog with pictures tomorrow, as I am getting something I have coveted for the longest time. ( No crying pictures though. lol)

I'm thinking of offering a re-root service, what do all of you feel is a reasonable price for a well re-rooted doll?  I am curious to get everyone's feedback on this. So, comment away! :)
I am also interested in perhaps trading my re-root services for 1:6 scale things that other individuals may offer...what are your thoughts on this?
I was planning on putting together a video on my youtube channel to showcase my services, in the future. What do you wish you saw more of in the craft of re-rooting? Colors, styles. etc?

Thank you all for stopping in here to read my ramblings. I do appreciate all the wonderful responses I receive here, and all over the web where I can be found. (^_^)
Above all I deeply appreciate your patience with me. I hope to post more, and not just stuff about the Doll Drama.

Oh and P.S. I won the Sci-Fi theme photo contest on www.dollobservers.com with the following picture. I encourage all of you to join in on the fun!  This months theme is Hollywood Glamour...  And for those of you that aren't familiar with the site, it is like a facebook for doll lovers and it isn't just limited to 1:6 scale. Everyone there is so wonderful!
I hope everyone's holiday weekend was amazing!!-Cat of A Doll Affinity
