Back...sorta :)

My weekend has been BUSY! I have quite a few projects in the works, and no end in sight, which is WONDERFUL!  My perspective in life has changed dramatically and I am on the upswing. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. I am blessed. New friends and new happiness keep finding me. It's amazing what can happen when you close doors, many more do open.  Crazy concept, eh? Or, perhaps you just see the doors that were there the entire time. :) Thank you all for being so awesome!!

The doll drama will return next weekend, as long as I have the time. :)

I went to my 2nd doll meeting today and shared some of my re-root work. They want me to give a presentation on my OOAK's and how I do what I do. So cool! :) Which brings me to this guy.....

He is for SALE! I finished re-rooting him last night, and he comes with everything you see in the last picture, including the stand and glasses. I try hard not to sell on eBay, so I am giving those who follow my blog, flickr, and dollpage accounts first choice. If you are interested in purchasing this fellow you can send me an e-mail at crushed.velvet.orchid5@gmail.com

Oh and I won the stylish new Japan doll that was released this year in the doll raffle! She needs a boil wash and a new body.....when I get time.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone is WELL!!!

  2. Thank you Chynadoll! :) The 550 plugs it took to finish him was worth it. He turned out better than I thought. :)

  3. Very nice reroot. It gives the dolls such a different look. I have done a few, but it takes up too much of my time. Lol. Which method do you use?

  4. I so need to do a reroot! Cat, you should make a tutorial to post on here. Beginners like me need to see hands on LOL. BTW, email me on a price for him if he is still available :)

  5. Georgia Girl- Thank you! :) It really can completely change a doll. I use the knot method. I have tried the needle and thread method, and rooting tool, but I didn't care for either. I find the knot method gives me more control over the plug quality.

Chynadoll- My very first re-root was a disaster! LOL I have a picture of that hot mess on Flickr somewhere. You should always consider your first re-root to be a learning experience. But in all honesty every re-root after the first teaches you something new each time. I have actually considered writing an e-book because I have run into things that I can't seem to find anyone else talking about when they show re-root tutorials. I just notice little things, and learn how to tweak them to my liking. :) lol
I sent you an e-mail about the re-root.

  6. Looking good! I love the reveal! I thought he was a girl at first. I haven't forgotten you. Just unpacked the dolls, so Mama Fear will be on her way soon!

  7. Dani- I cannot lie, the "reveal" was an accident. lol But you mistaking him as a girl during the first couple of shots...hilarious! :) The oversight on my part was well worth it! So excited to start re-rooting Mama Fear! :D
